One of the challenges of being a Probation Officer is knowing what to believe of what you are told because, regrettably, many of the people you work with have a tendency to lie, or shall we say mis-represent things.

I had read ‘the Snark’ before I became a Probation Officer and The Bellman’s  rule-of-three always stuck with me as a way of deciding whether what I was being told was true. A little cynical of me perhaps, but useful.
